Virgin Gorda
Coordinates: 18.4939° N, 64.4023° W
Body of Water: Caribbean Sea
Marina: Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour
Located in the Caribbean Sea just south of Richard Branson’s Necker Island, Virgin Gorda is the third largest island in the British Virgin Islands (“BVI”). On the island’s southwest in Saint Thomas Bay, Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour has 93 slips that can accommodate vessels up to 140 feet in length. The marina offers overnight or weekly dockage available for those looking for an extended stay on the island.
Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour
Just north of the Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour, we recommend Chez Bamboo, a popular restaurant in Spanish Town. South of Spanish Town are the Baths, Virgin Gorda’s most famous attraction. The Baths are a geological wonder with large granite boulders that are the result of volcanic activity, and which offer a series of caves and grottos for visitors to explore at this incredible natural park.
The Baths
From the Baths, we recommend heading towards the northeast end of Virgin Gorda island, where you can enjoy the beautiful large lagoon that is North Sound. Here, Boaters will also have access to a full-service marina at the Leverick Bay marina.

Featured Manufacturer
VanDutch Yachts got its start in 2008 in the Netherlands. Since its early days, VanDutch has collaborated with the renowned naval architect Frank Mulder of Mulder Design. The brand’s flagship model, the VanDutch 40, launched in 2009, and garnered significant acclaim for its unique design and performance features. The boat has a slender hull with a minimalist profile. The VanDutch 40 was an instant success, and this set the stage for the company's future success.
VanDutch 40
VanDutch Yachts was acquired by Cantiere del Pardo in 2020, which also owns Grand Soleil Yachts and Pardo Yachts. The company's headquarters and production facilities are in Forlì, in Central Italy. Over the years, VanDutch boats have been in the news thanks to their celebrity passengers, including Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and Leonardo DiCaprio. The brand has also collaborated with luxury brands such as Dior, McLaren, Red Bull and Hublot. The brand has sales centers in Lake Garda (Italy), Saint Tropez, Ibiza, Mallorca and Miami.

Galleys
A galley is a boat’s kitchen. Galleys are designed to be functional in the limited space on a boat. They’re usually located below the deck, where they can be easily accessed by crew and passengers. While smaller boats have compact galleys with basic essentials, larger vessels often have more spacious galleys, and are equipped with advanced appliances and more storage. The primary purpose is to have a designated space for food prep, cooking and storage.
Galleys on a boat typically have essential appliances, such as stoves, ovens, refrigerators and sinks, that are often specifically designed for marine use. For example, marine stoves are usually gimbaled, allowing them to remain level even when the boat is rocking to prevent spills and accidents. Marine refrigerators are typically more energy-efficient and compact than their household counterparts, ensuring that they don’t strain the boat’s power supply or take up too much space.
